About us

Welcome to River Valley Tres Dias. We are a family of Christian believers who desire to bring other Christians to a closer and deeper walk with Jesus. River Valley Tres Dias was organized in January of 2019.

Tres Dias, which means “three days” in Spanish is a cloistered weekend devoted to experiencing God’s unconditional love for us through His grace, strengthening and empowering His Church, and inspiring servant leadership in your own environments. The Men and Women attend separate weekends which happen twice a year and start on a Thursday evening and finish on Sunday evening.

Many who have attended the weekend have experienced a deeper and more meaningful relationship with Christ as they sense His love and presence in a dynamic way.

After the weekend, Tres Dias encourages people to be in small groups to support each other in their lives as Christians while enhancing ties with their home churches and living the Christian Life in their environment.

This is a once in a lifetime experience! It is a chance to escape the busyness of every day life and spend three days dedicated to Jesus without any distractions.

Tres Dias movement was started in 1972, and is now overseen by a National organization of lay people and clergy. Tres Dias is derived from Cursillo (koor-see-yo) de Cristiandad (a short course in Christianity), which has been an active tool of renewal in the Roman Catholic Church since its Spanish beginning in 1949.

Tres Dias is an ecumenical version of Cursillo open to any Christians interested in deepening their walk with the Lord. Each attendee, or candidate, must be sponsored by someone who has previously attended a Tres Dias or Cursillo.
Tres Dias can be made only once in a lifetime. Therefore, it is not a substitute for a retreat, nor does it have the individual solitude of a retreat. Tres Dias can make succeeding retreats more fruitful by making Christ’s teachings come alive. There is presented in three days the basis of the Christian life, the meaning of living the Christian ideal, and its application in our daily lives. The basic atmosphere of Tres Dias is one of love, joy, and Christian fellowship.

Following Tres Dias, a person is able to expand one’s own spiritual life and become a more active disciple of Christ in the world and in one’s own church. One’s life after a Tres Dias weekend is known as the “Fourth Day”. During this time, perseverance is important, just as it is with any method of renewal. In Tres Dias, the spirit is continued after the three days through reunions of the Tres Dias community. These are a means for growth in understanding and enthusiasm within the Christian community. Tres Dias relies on prayer and on the indwelling presence of God’s Spirit for its leadership and guidance.
